Pcie X1 Slot Not Working

The throughput of the pcie x1 slot depends on the pcie generation. I received a fenvi ax200 wifi card and tried installing it into the pcie x1 slot (which the fenvi manual says it supports). The bandwidth of each pcie slot is different as pcie x1 slots are available in different versions.

I test it and it work on pcie x16 but not on the pcie x1 slot and i use the x16 for my graphics card. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Not all pcie x1 slots have similar bandwidth.

If your onboard video adapter doesn't work, and resetting the cmos doesn't work, you can try putting the pci express x16 video card you have now into the white pcie x4 slot (the white video card slot next to the black pcie x16 slot), and see if you can get into the bios to change the pci x 16 setting. The gen 3 x1 slot has a throughput of about 1 gb/s, as can be seen in the table above.

If the card works then it’s either the mother board or the psu. Therefore, not all pcie x1 slots are the same. If the same problem repeats it’s the card that’s faulty.

In any case i thought the nvidia gt520 was a x16 card so it's a little confusing what you are actually doing. The first pcie lane i plugged it into was the lowest x1 slot and i found that the card was not detected. The video card is too wide to try in the black x16 slot to test enable or disable setting for usb, with no distinction between slots.

Anyway, try the x1 card in the x16 slot as it's not clear that's where you inserted it. Check dvb card and test other dvb cards. Additional info added july 23, 2011:

I installed a hauppauge 1800 in my pcie x1 slot asus m2n32 sli wireless edition. I moved it to a x16 slot and it worked and i have since moved it to the top x1 slot above my gpu and it works in that one. This is a dual slot card, meaning it covers the first available pcie 1x slot.

I got a elgato hd60 pro and added it to the system in my sig. Along with ways to troubleshoot them they are as follows: I rma it and get new z170 (gaming pro) but with last updated bios 0802 still not detect pcie_x1 dvb cards.

One of the x16 slots (blue) has my video card in it. Then i find in asus rog forum other users have a same problem like me. Pcie_x1 slots not detect any kind dvb cards i have.

I bought new pc parts and something isnt working. I just purchased a usb 3.0 controller which is also x1. After replacement did a bios reset twice, once factory reset.

The pciex16_2 slot shares bandwidth with the pciex1_1 slot, pciex1_2 slot and usb3_34 connector. Put the graphics card in another pc. Presently, gen 3 and gen 4 are the latest pcie x1 generations.

My first z170 (gaming pro) not detect pcie tbs6922 dvb card. My motherboard is the slot in the bios or something? It might work in the x4 slot.
